    Pack your comfy clothes, your hiking shoes, and your favorite mug—we’re heading back to the mountains! Join the women of First Presbyterian Church for a weekend of rest, laughter, and renewal at beautiful Montreat Conference Center, May 1–3, 2026. Hosted by Presbyterian Women, this retreat is a chance to step away from your everyday routine and make space for God, yourself, and one another. We’re especially excited to welcome back The Rev. Christopher Edmonston, a former FPC associate pastor. Christopher is a gifted preacher, teacher, and retreat leader—and a dear friend to many at First Presbyterian. He’ll guide us through meaningful times of study and conversation as we grow together in faith. In between sessions, you’ll have plenty of time to wander the Black Mountain shops, join a hike, read by the lake, or simply sit and visit with friends. New this year, Friday and Saturday dinners will be catered by Red Radish and Ole Guacamole, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy.   • PW Birthday Dinner

    Wood Fellowship Hall

    Hey ladies—you're invited to the Presbyterian Women's Birthday Dinner! Join us on Wednesday, May 7 at 5:30 p.m. as we celebrate the past year and look ahead with joy and anticipation. The evening begins with drinks in the courtyard, followed by a festive dinner and program in Wood Fellowship Hall. The night will include remarks from our moderator, the installation of new officers, and the presentation of Honorary Life Memberships—a special honor given to women who have made a deep and lasting impact on our church. This year’s meal will be a salad bar with lemon garlic chicken, Mediterranean-style salmon, shrimp pasta, roasted veggies, fruit salad, hummus with pita bread, croutons, cheese, and homemade dressings. Dessert options include a lemon-and-cream-layered shortbread cake and a black-tie mousse cake. Please come celebrate with us!

  • All-Ages Playdate

    Front Lawn

    This event was originally scheduled for April 19, but has been moved to June 7 to coincide with the Spring Luncheon (registration coming soon). Save the date! While lunch will be held in the Fellowship Hall, the fun will continue outdoors! Burn off some energy at our All-Ages Playdate on the front lawn—complete with bounce houses, lawn games, and plenty of fun!

  • Grands Camp

    Is there anything better than making memories with the grandkids? Grands Camp is a three-morning event designed to bring grandparents and grandchildren together to share stories, creativity, and the love of God. Structured like an all-ages Vacation Bible School, each morning is filled with Bible stories, art projects, music, service activities, snacks, and plenty of space to play. Activities are thoughtfully designed to engage every learner, from Pre-K through 5th grade. The cost is $25 per family. We suggest no more than two children per adult, and "grandparent" is a broad and welcoming term here. Any loving adult bringing kids along is exactly who we had in mind! Children must be at least 3 years old to participate. Registration coming soon.

  • Vacation Bible School

    Join us for a Great Big Adventure! From August 3–7, step into a world of wonder as our church is transformed into a lush, vibrant rainforest! Children will be immersed in the nature of God and the joy of faith through Bible stories, song, movement, and fellowship. Registration Details: Ages: 3 years old (as of Aug. 31, 2026 and fully potty trained) through rising 5th graders. Priority Registration: Opens February 15–22 for First Presbyterian Church families. Community Registration: Opens February 23 for the community at large (as space allows). Space is limited, so dive into the adventure today!
