Do you need a great summer read? Do you have a perfect cornbread recipe that you would love to show off? Did you daydream about rafting down the Mississippi with Huck Finn? You’re in luck! All are invited on Sunday, July 27, following Worship to discuss Percival Everett’s book James, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction!  The book is a reimagining of the childhood favorite Huckleberry Finn, told from the perspective of the enslaved Jim. Come enjoy a complimentary barbeque lunch, cornbread tasting, and a brief overview of the book (by retired high school U.S. literature & AP Language teacher Barbara Williamson), followed by a table discussion.  What a wonderful opportunity to connect with friends mid-summer and be part of a lively discussion!
