Lucy and her husband, Jim, grew up in the East Tennessee mountains and attended East Tennessee State University. They moved to Charlotte twenty-five years ago, where they raised their three children. After graduate school, Lucy began her career as a child and family therapist and enjoyed helping families in times of crisis and journeying with them as they strived to live their best lives.  Similarly, her call to ministry has been fueled by a desire for all God’s creation to have the life abundant that Christ desires for us.  Throughout her adult life, Lucy had been actively involved in church lay leadership and served in various capacities that helped make clear her desire to pursue congregational ministry. She joined the staff of Covenant Presbyterian Church in 2013, and has spent the past five years serving as the Director of Mission and Outreach. This call led her to pursue a Master of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary Charlotte.
