Thirty years ago, my husband Kedar and I moved to Charlotte from Washington, DC and quickly made First Presbyterian our church home primarily because of its community outreach focus. After a career in finance as a stockbroker, I first joined the church staff as a teacher in the Weekday School and discovered a love for storytelling, messy art projects, and preschoolers over fourteen years while also helping to raise our three children, Florence, Robert, and Mary. After another career chapter in the world of e-commerce, I re-upped with First Presbyterian as the Outreach Coordinator in 2019. It feels like coming full circle when I can now work to engage our church members in doing the work of Christ in the heart of Charlotte alongside our community partners.
