All adults at First Presbyterian Church who plan to volunteer with children and youth need to take this training once every three years. The training on this date is offered in person only and will take place in Room P-209. Please make sure to register so we know how many people to prepare for.

Plowshares Book Club

Fellowship Hall Overflow

Join Plowshares for the next book read and discussion of “Our Trespasses” by Greg Jarrell, which explores housing inequities in Charlotte. The author will be available to sign books, and a light lunch will be served. Books are available for purchase after worship for $10.

“Following Jesus” Congregational Book Read

Faith is not just a matter of confessing beliefs about Jesus, but of following Jesus, of living in a way that shows his face to the world. What might it mean to be guided by Jesus who draws you into an entirely new way of being – to dare to move out of and to let go of yourself to make room for him? For the season of Lent, First Presbyterian has chosen the book “Following Jesus: Finding Our Way Home in an Age of Anxiety” by Henri Nouwen to guide the movement from wandering on our own to following Jesus. Spring Playdate on the Lawn

Front Lawn

Open to ages three through 2nd Grade! Come join us on the front lawn after worship. We’ll have bounce houses, the playground will be unlocked, and lunch will be served (Publix sandwiches, popcorn chicken, fruit, and chips). The cost is $10/Family.

Baptism Class

Committed to the vow we made to your family to lead, guide and nurture the children baptized at First Presbyterian Church, we invite you to join us Sunday, March 30th at 9:45am in the Session Room (S-312). This class will teach parents about what baptism means in our church, how to fulfill the baptismal vows at home, and to support you as parents in early childhood faith formation. This one-hour class, designed to equip families with knowledge and support that they need, is sure to be an hour well spent amongst families in similar stages of life. With the support of the community gathered, we look forward to learning together and having a lot of fun doing it! Parents are required to attend this class one time only. The class will be offered quarterly. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO REGISTER!

Western NC Relief Trip

Camp Grier 985 Camp Grier Rd, Old Fort, NC

Join a group of travelers headed to Western NC Saturday afternoon, 4/5 for a day of worship and fellowship followed by 4 work days repairing homes damaged by Hurricane Helene. Trip leaders are David Burton and Lucy Crain. The cost of the trip is $500 which includes food, lodging, and participation in the rebuild program. If you would like to donate to construction materials, pay what you can and the additional funds will help purchase supplies!
