Women’s Retreat

Join the women of First Presbyterian Church for a weekend of rest, laughter, and renewal at beautiful Montreat Conference Center, May 1–3, 2026. Hosted by Presbyterian Women, this retreat is a chance to step away from your everyday routine and make space for God, yourself, and one another. We’re especially excited to welcome back The Rev. Christopher Edmonston, a former FPC associate pastor. Christopher is a gifted preacher, teacher, and retreat leader—and a dear friend to many at First Presbyterian. He’ll guide us through meaningful times of study and conversation as we grow together in faith. In between sessions, you’ll have plenty of time to wander the Black Mountain shops, join a hike, read by the lake, or simply sit and visit with friends. New this year, Friday and Saturday dinners will be catered by Red Radish and Ole Guacamole, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy. PW Birthday Dinner
Wood Fellowship HallHey ladies—you're invited to the Presbyterian Women's Birthday Dinner! Join us on Wednesday, May 7 at 5:30 p.m. as we celebrate the past year and look ahead with joy and anticipation. The evening begins with drinks in the courtyard, followed by a festive dinner and program in Wood Fellowship Hall. The night will include remarks from our moderator, the installation of new officers, and the presentation of Honorary Life Memberships—a special honor given to women who have made a deep and lasting impact on our church. This year’s meal will be a salad bar with lemon garlic chicken, Mediterranean-style salmon, shrimp pasta, roasted veggies, fruit salad, hummus with pita bread, croutons, cheese, and homemade dressings. Dessert options include a lemon-and-cream-layered shortbread cake and a black-tie mousse cake. Please come celebrate with us!

Kiwanis BBQ & Bluegrass Fundraiser
Front LawnThe Charlotte Kiwanis Foundation will be serving up Mac’s Speed Shop BBQ on our front lawn for a great cause. Grab lunch to take away or stay and enjoy live bluegrass music under the trees. Every bit of profit comes back to the church to sponsor children in the 28208 zip code to attend Camp Grier. Tickets are $14 in advance or $15 at the door.

Creek Clean Up
Little Sugar Creek 500 Brandywine Rd, Charlotte, NCAdvocacy Ministry's Earth Care Task Force is hosting a creek clean-up at Little Sugar Creek. We will clean from Westfield and Brandywine Roads down to Tyvola. We'll meet at the creek (parking available on Westfield Road). This is a wonderful opportunity to care for our local environment and get outside together. This is a family-friendly event (great for kids!), and no experience is needed. All supplies will be provided.

All-Ages Playdate
Front LawnThis event was originally scheduled for April 19, but has been moved to June 7 to coincide with the Spring Luncheon (registration coming soon). Save the date! While lunch will be held in the Fellowship Hall, the fun will continue outdoors! Burn off some energy at our All-Ages Playdate on the front lawn—complete with bounce houses, lawn games, and plenty of fun!

Spring Luncheon & All-Ages Playdate
Wood Fellowship HallJoin us after worship for food and fellowship at our Spring Luncheon! This intergenerational gathering is a chance to share a meal and connect with friends old and new. The church will provide fried chicken, mac and cheese, rolls, and beverages. We invite each family to bring a potluck dish to share based on last name: A–I: Salad, J–R: Dessert, S–Z: Side dish (One dish per family, please!). While lunch will be held in the Fellowship Hall, the fun will continue outdoors at our All-Ages Playdate on the front lawn—complete with bounce houses, lawn games, and plenty of fun!
