Event Overview

On Saturday, October 17, from 10-1:30, we will join Rev. Daniel Heath, Associate Chaplain and Director of Descendant Community Outreach, for a tour of campus sites that illuminate the connections of the college to slavery and the work the community has done to repair this painful time in its history. As a reminder, Dr. Robert Hall Morrison, the first pastor of FPC, was also the first president of Davidson College. He enslaved around 70 people. We will visit outdoor sites as well as a campus museum. The visit will conclude with lunch and discussion in the dining hall. Folks can carpool and/or ride the bus from FPC, or meet us there. Learn more about Rev. Heath here.

From Season to Season

Each October, First Presbyterian holds its annual giving campaign, inviting members to make a financial pledge for the year ahead. These commitments support our mission and ministry and help the church plan its budget with confidence.
