Chef Marlene Barber has worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry for 13yrs. She was born and raised in Statesville, NC to a family that gave her room to pursue her passion for cooking. After her parents and teachers realized her potential she joined clubs such as ProStart and FCCLA to gain knowledge and to connect the dots between agriculture, community health, and consumer sciences. The study of this ignited her passions all the more and as a result, she decided to further her education at Johnson and Wales University pursuing a degree in Culinary Arts and a personal study into social economics. Over the years she has worked for companies such as The Charlotte City Club, The Panthers Stadium, The Ballantyne Hotel and The Ritz Carlton to name a few. As she builds her brand A Taste Of Luxury, LLC her hope is to develop partnerships with charities and create fun culinary classes and other opportunities for people to give back to their communities in ways that eradicate hunger around the world.
