Reflection on Today’s Devotional:

“Violence and peace will always be entangled with one another. Violence brings pain and is the absence of peace. As a college student, being at peace is a difficult space to find. My class days are long and new material is constantly being thrown at me. I wrestle daily and try to silence the voice of anxiety in my head. Matthew says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” To be a peacemaker, I know I have to make practicing peace a priority in my life. I have to be mindful of things that bring me peace. I have to reach out to people that help me work toward inner peace even when I don’t feel like it. I have realized when I do this my anxiety lessens, my mind is opened and I remember that I am a child of God who is loved unconditionally; and because of this I am able to embody God’s grace, love, and peace for myself and others. Violence is no match for that.” – Addie Williams (FPC Youth)
