Reflection on Today’s Devotional:

“I often think about the places that have felt safe for me- communities of people where I felt free to be myself and ask questions. In those spaces it never felt like I needed to show up with a mask on and pretend like I was someone who I don’t want to be. I feel, though, that I can name a lot more of those places from my childhood- warm places where loving people celebrated me for who I am from the foundation of my formative years. As an adult, I don’t have as many examples. I wonder how I have created a barrier for love as I’ve learned more about the ways the world works. I pray today that I am able to open my heart to the love that God has for my life. I pray that I am open to the gentle whispers and giant waves of God’s call on my own heart to create safe and inviting places for others to feel love, too.” – Delilah Jane Phillips (FPC Adult)
